Raluca, who is a close friend of mine since childhood, came to me wanting to build a visual identiy for herself, as she was transitioning from an employee position to one of independently consulting. In order to have a professional, well put together look with clients, a unitary aspect of all items they will come in contact with, always helps. Thus we began exploring her style.

She wanted to keep femininity in her branding and color palette, but without looking too soft, as the main area of work is European political parties. Together we created a moodboard which reflects strength and elegance through shades of purple, powdered pink and golden beige.

After sketching and drafting some monogram options, she chose one which besides combining the letters C and R, also suggests a pie chart. Statistics and charts are often used in her work area, so it made sense to integrate that visual, into the logo.

Besides the icon, we also added two different sans serif fonts, conferring its modern quality. They are not too thin, and not too thick, giving a sturdy, yet feminine feel. Paired with the logo and colors, are also some patterns which evoke the thought of data gathering.

This branding is meant to go on on-line mediums like e-mail invoices, as well as physical ones like business cards, contracts, envelopes and any paper item needed for client interaction. Suffice to say, she was very pleased with how everything turned out. So, happy client&friend, happy designer!
